Wimbledon!

It is Wimbledon time in London and we weren't going to miss it for the world! We heard that people can queue outside the Wimbledon park the day of and get tickets to see all matches except the Centre court, Court #1 matches so we went. We woke up at 5:30 am and went and stook in a 4 hour loooong line. Here is a picture of me looking sad with the other 8000 odd people who were waiting to get in. We thought we might not get in! We were the 4470th and 4472nd person. (Nikhil was in the 7000s and he still got in!!)

But we finally did get in!! There were some good matches that day and first we chose to see Ladies' Singles - 3rd Round between 5th seed E. Dementieva and G. Dulko in Court #2. It was a good match! Here are both of us looking mighty pleased.

Check out the Wimbledon slideshow to see some great tennis shots!

We then found the BEST location to enjoy Wimbledon - the last row of Court #3! See me there. From there we could see matches in court #3, court#2 over the wall and some other courts in the distance so we managed to watch Aarenka and Petrova on 1 side, Tipsarevic and Tursunov on 1 side and Sania Mirza's doubles match in the distance. :)

Ahhhh Wimbledon!
Can you see who that is? Yes it is Nadal!!!! We got to see him in Centre Court at Wimbledon!! How you may ask? They resell Center Court tickets for 5 pounds and we got it!! YEAHHH what an end to a tremendous day!

Tuesday...

Tuesday I experienced how it is to get to work in London! It is sheer MADNESS!! Everyone is in a BIG rush! J takes the Jubilee Line from the Baker Street station. Ran till there.... somehow managed to squeeze into the tube and finally reached Canary Wharf in one piece! PHEW!

Canary Wharf is the financial district of London so most of the financial companies are there in their sexy glass buildings. There was a lot of construction going on there! They didn't let me take a picture of the Barclays lobby. :( See him here in front of the Barclays building.

After that I went with Erin to the Tate Modern - Britain's national museum of contemporary and modern art. It was the home to many Picassos, Monets and others. We liked some.. some were just weird but all-in-all it was fun!

Our first weekend in London..

We had so much fun this weekend! We walked around all the main places such as Westminster, Big Ben, London Eye and Trafalgar Square. Here are some pics

Me in front of the Westminster Cathedral

Jaanu in front of Westminster Abbey...

Look... The London Eye!

Awww.. both of us at Trafalgar Square

My workplace

I work here all day everyday!!! It's not that bad.. :) Check out the Ipod player that Barclays gave J on the first day.

Our first week...

I got late starting this blog so here is a quick update of our first week here.

Sears has offered me an option to work from home so I needed to set up the house, set up internet, phone and start working from the first day.

When I was killing myself trying to set up everything Mr. Mohan had 3 days of orientation. He had a scavenger hunt all around London and a London eye/dinner evening among many things! grrrrrrr to him.....

Here are the Barclays GSB interns in the London eye. (Thanks to the Feathersones for letting me use the picture)
